Friends of Astoria Heights Park Events, 2017

While construction at the Park is ongoing, Friends of Astoria Heights Park will continue to run events throughout 2017 for the benefit of our community.

>1. Community Potluck<
January 29th, 10 AM at VFW Post 2348 (43rd Street between Broadway and 31st Avenue). Come enjoy each other’s company for a couple of hours, catch up with friends and make new ones while sharing the diverse cuisine of your neighbors and an ample supply of coffee courtesy of our friends at COFFEED.

>2. Making the Band <   Join us on February 12th for music and fun at the World Charter School  (~37th Street on 35th Avenue) and between 1pm and 4pm.

>3. Magic Party <  An event for young children featuring costumes, games, and more at World Charter School  (~37th Street on 35th Avenue) and between 11am and 2pm.

>4. Park Forum Bringing together Friends of Astoria Heights Park members with our neighbors in Queens who want to reinvigorate their local parks for knowledge-sharing and networking. March 25th 11am to 1pm at VFW Post 2348 (43rd Street between Broadway and 31st Avenue).

>5. Ceramic Workshop < From February 11th through April, Saturday mornings 11:30am to 1pm, at the Woodside Community Center. Participants learn how to make ceramics and complete projects over the course of the Workshop culminating with a unique installation event in the Spring.

>6. Pedal for Parks < On May 6th starting at 10am, participants will bike in a group to different parks in Astoria to celebrate our local parks and draw attention to the need to continually support them.

>7. Free Little Library Once things warm up in the Spring, there will be free little libraries at various parks in Western Queens.
